James Robert "Jim" Rappe, 60 of Springdale died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born January 8, 1948 in Tupelo, Mississippi to James R. Rappe, Jr. and Martha Roberts Rappe. Jim was an Engineer and he was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a former Director of the POA Board at Harber Meadows. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, being outdoors and coaching baseball. Survivors include his wife Alice Rappe of the home to whom he married August 14, 1970; one son Justin Rappe of Springdale; one daughter Emily Rappe of Fayetteville; his mother Martha Roberts Rappe of Springdale; two brothers Bill Rappe and wife Jana of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and James Freeman Rappe of Okolona, Mississippi; four brothers and sisters in law, Becky and Mart Pease of Andover, Minnesota and J. C. and Shelia Ponder of Springfield, Missouri; surviving nieces and nephews are Deanna Ponder, Tracy Ponder, Michelle Dykoski, Mike Pease, William Rappe and Christopher Rappe. Funeral services will be Monday, March 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Dick Jebsen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 16 from 2 to 4pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Pallbearers are Jason Fears, Mike Fears, Jon Dennie, Drew Weir, Adam Pocius, Christopher Rappe, William Rappe and Mike Pease.
