Not sure what to say?

As a young and only 2Lt and a frustrated wanna be warrior in the 308TFS at Tuy Hoa Jim was my hero who offered me both sage advice and inspiration for taking the right path for my career and future life success. He lives on in my 76 year old memory. Check six!!

Great leader and Commander while I served under him at 12 AF in Tucson. He assumed command under difficult circumstances and do so with grace and dedication to all the men and women of 12 AF. His son James and our son Mike were in the same unit at Texas A&M and both went on to serve in the USAF.

Lt Gen Record still remains the best commander I have ever served under. He deeply cared for his people and they responded in kind....the Air Force has lost a true hero and patriot.

My sympathies to the family of Jim Record. Ralph Neill, Purdue, 1962

My condolences to Jim Record's family. He was a gentleman and a pleasure to work with at Raytheon.

Dear Mrs Record,

It has now been almost 50 years since Jim was assigned to me as a student in the Pilot Instructor Traning program at Randolph AFB.

He was, without a doubt, the best student that I had in my years as an instructor pilot!

Jim had the heart and hands of a true fighter pilot. He loved life and he loved flying. The last time that I spoke with him was when he was C.O. of 12th AF. He had just been to Hill AFB that day and had a ride in the...

I was blessed to work for Gen Record 94-98 at 12 AF when he was Vice and Commander. Few leaders matched his patience and caring for his people. Gen Record left a mark on those who learned from him. Those of us who worked for him know that we have lost a true AF hero...his legacy as a wise and caring leader will endure.

Mrs Record, Please accept my deepest sympathy on your husband's passing. My wife Dianne and I are deeply saddened by his death. Gen Record was - and will always be - our role model for "serving with integrity". I wish our nation would develop more leaders like him

As an Airman, my first assignment in the Air Force was Kunsan, 1982-83. Every Wing Commander I've known since then has stood in Lt Gen Record's shadow. He was a true leader, we would followed him to any fight. He was bigger than life then and bigger than life now. I pray for peace for his family.
