Sidney and Paulette visited us in 2007 in the Netherlands. We saw an ad in a local paper with the intriguing text: "Canadians in a box in the streets?" which asked host families for the visit from the veterans. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. It did not took days before they touched our hearts and I remember Sids big smile, when the "girls" went to bed and I asked him to join in a little brandy :-) We visited all the veteran events but also the place Sidney had the hardest...

I am so sorry to hear of Sid's passing. He was a wonderful man who was always so happy and smiling. I loved hearing his stories about Avon Old Farms School and Canada.
