Dear Diane, Cheryl, and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loving husband and father's passing. He was truly such a gift to the Portage School community and I know he leaves a huge legacy there. I had the pleasure to work for Jim for two years at Portage Schools, in addition to knowing Jim and his family as neighbors and as a Rotarian. Kind and thoughtful are the first words that come to mind in describing him, but he had a historic impact on the development of Portage Schools. Strategic Planning was important to Jim, as was curriculum, and he was always quick to credit the faculty for the District's establishment and success of the International Baccalaureate program -- a milestone...
