Rosey was an original. the great times of '73-'74 are in my head forever. Marx bros. movies, beers with Donch, and O'Dell, and dropping Rose off at the Berwick exit on our last day of school so he could finish hitchhiking back to NY......all he was carrying was a lacrosse stick and his pillow.

I first met Jimmy in 1969 on a wrestling mat. Coach Ferraro had Jimmy and I wrestle at the start of the season as he said Jimmy represented the sophomore class, and I the junior class. Looking at Jimmy on the mat was a fearful thing - this huge sophomore who had about 50lbs on me. I just remember I could never get hand control against him because of his hefty wrists, and any grappler knows without hand control you're not going anywhere - and I didn't! The post game wrestling match after the 1975 Penn State--Pitt game between Jim and Greg Buttle was the best. It exhibited joy, sportsmanship, love and two friends playing their last undergraduate game (not the bowl) together. It was super to beat Pitt, our arch rival in those days. So sorry for all who loved him, Sue Paterno

Rose took me under his wing at Penn State, and he truly engaged with everyone whose good fortune it was to be his friend. And when he raised that quizzical eyebrow, we knew the game was afoot! Miss you, Rose.

I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. I was fortunate to know Jim early in our careers when we both traveled through upstate New York selling services to Unions. He was full of life and always a pleasure to be with. We shared so many good times. A real gentleman. Condolences to Jim's family.

Having lost some over the holidays, I feel your pain and anguish. Jim will be remembered for a long time and with much love and admiration. We were on the same wrestling team, he a heavy weight and I a light weight, but he always treated me fair and with consideration. He will be missed, my prayers go out to his family.
