Not sure what to say?

Jim and and I were in Japan on a tour w/ J.C Young in '88. A knock at my hotel room door was Jim w/ a promo about a tour of an ancient emperor's castle turned museum so off we went! After our last performance, we were on the bullet train heading to our hotel, playing the word game hangman on a small hand held device, taking turns trying to stump each other w/ an obscure word. Listening to Jesse Colin Young & the GREAT James Rothermel---WOW,a gift to the world!

Jim, Your thumbprint on Jesse Colin Young's music meant as much to me as Jesse Colin Young's music. Kinda like David Lindley's thumbprint on Jackson Browne or Paul Desmond on Dave Brubeck's music. Cheers.

An inspiration to all who knew him, Jim was as good a musician as he was a human being. He took the time to nurture all who were fortunate enough to be on stage with him and I personally was blessed with his shared insights into music and life. In '84 I produced a single for Doc Fingers and hired Jim to play sax. In one take he played a brilliant solo. Being a 'green' producer I asked for just one more take to see what other ideas he might come up with. He gently told me that this was the...
