Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. There was no finer gentleman and no more loyal a Boston College man than Jim Ryan. He was one of the hardest-working of all our alumni volunteers back in the 1970's when I - along with Al Quebec and Jim Gilcreast -worked for Joe Kelley in the BC development office. Whenever we called on Jim for any sort of help, he came through with flying colors - of Maroon and Gold.

Our thoughts are with the entire Ryan family. W. Newton will not be the same without Jimmy. He was always there for his family members when they needed him, had a fabulous sense of humor, and was a great role model for successful ageing. We will all miss him.

Words cannot express our feelings for the loss of such a great gentleman. May your family bathe in the knowledge that he will be truly missed. Always a sparkling Irish smile & friendly "Hello!". Chris Hewitt & The Killilea Family

I am so sorry to hear about Jim. As my brother mentioned above,
Jim made our lives easy when we worked at McLeans Mobil station as kids. He would get us our auto insurance and we would pay weekly or bi weekly, pretty much whenver he came in for gas. And it wasn't just us, it seemed like everyone at the station worked with Jim for insurance. When he pulled in, everyone went for their pockets, pulled out the cash, and walked out to his car. I continued all my insurance needs for almost 30...

I have very fond memories of Mr. Ryan having grown up one street over on Adams Ave. He was always so friendly and always had a smile on his face. I was sorry to hear about his passing. Please accept my condolences and know that the extended Ryan family is in my thoughts and in my prayers.

It seems there's very little anyone can say or do, to ease the loss of one who meant so much to you. May you find some comfort, just knowing there are many hearts that care. Our hearts go out to all of you.

To all the Ryans:

Our sincere sympathy. This is such a sad loss your dad was a wonderful person, loved by so many.
I have many fond memories which began when Mary was born. Your mom and I shared a room at Newton Wellesley (Susan was born at the same time)!
It was great to know all the Ryans over the years. A beautiful family.
And, your dad was such a great guy, always
laughing and making everyone else laugh too.
We will miss him.
Our thoughts and...

Dear Ryan family...we are so very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. What a great man he was. I so enjoyed seeing him over the years at Ryan Insurance and talking about his kids, his grandchildren, and life in general. He always had wonderful words of wisdom, and we had many lively discussions about BC. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

So sorry to hear the sad news about your father. He was such a nice man.He always made me feel welcome in his home and family. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
