Not sure what to say?

I served aboard the USS Saratoga from 4/72- 9/72. He was the best CO on the ship I have ever seen. He will be greatly missed. Fly high with the Angels. I salute you!

I was an 18YO US Marine Orderly for Capt Sanderson on the US Saratoga CV60 and what a fine man he was. He always treated people including myself with so much respect . I was thinking about him today and sadly just found this . my condolences to the family as i also share in the grief. As fine of a man and Navel Officer as i have ever met . RJ USMC Ret.

It is with deep regret and shock that fills me with Sandy's passing. Sandy was a great and committed Naval Officer, American and brother mason. He had my utmost respect and was one of my closest heroes. To Betty and family, I extend my heart felt condolences. His loss will be felt by all that knew his vitality and commitment to life.

What a great man and fine American. ADM Sanderson gave freely of his time and talent to the community after his many years of service to our Nation. It was my pleasure to meet and work with Sandy over the years on a number of community groups, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and the Tidewater Council Boy Scouts of America stand out in my memory. My prayers for his wife and family.
