Not sure what to say?

To the Family and Friends of Jim Savage,

Like you, I regret his passing.
As a prior auditing student of Jim's I have had numerous thoughts and memories as to how hard and demanding he was to me, and I assume others.
I had never had a Prof at PSU that pushed me so hard; harder than I generally wanted to go.
Over the years, I have looked back and consistently view Jim Savage as my hardest and BEST Prof because he made me 1. learn the material his way, 2, forced me harder to be...

Embry,
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I was in Maui in June, and thought about the both of you so often. So many great time, and memories I have of the both of you, the Kallua pie, the walks, and talks Jim and I had. He was a true gentleman, someone I cherished to call a friend, and mentor in many ways. I won't be able to make it to Jim's service, I hope to come down and see you in the near future.
Love,
The Big Kauna,
Cam stokes

Embry and family,
Jim meant a lot to me and I was so sorry to hear of his passing. He was my mentor and role model. From my first day in his accounting principles class at Portland State I new what I wanted my career to be. He was a challenging teacher and this brought out the best in me. I also had the honor to be chosen as his first employee in his Tigard office. Over the years I have thought so many times about how he would do things. I also remember the big smile and twinkle in...

Dear Savage clan,
The life of the "World's Greatest Crabber" is certainly worth celebrating. I remember the t-shirt he wore at the beach that proudly stated, "Jim Savage Loves to Crab". I am glad to have had the chance to know him and wish you all the best.

Embry and family:
We were so sorry to hear about Jim. His passing is a great loss to us and everyone who knew him. I had known him since high school and I know he was well thought of by me and all of the others who knew him through the years. I always looked forward to the great parties and picnics the two of you hosted for so many years. He will be sorely missed by all.

Embry and Family,

I am sorry to hear about Jim's passing. This is a real loss for us all. I recall Jim from his years as a leader in the accounting community in Portland. His was an inspiration for so many of us with his smile, his generosity, and his wonderful spirit that survives him!

Condolences to Embry & the family. I had the pleasure of working @ C&L in 1979 when Jim was PIC. He was a hardworking, intense guy, but his oversight was necessary for a firm during those times (recession). He'll be missed.

Embry and Family,
Robert and I are so sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed talking with you and Jim in Mexico. You are in our prayers.

Embry and family, Jim will be truly missed by all. It is said that the business world can be cold and cruel, but not for me. I was fortunate to have Jim as a mentor and a friend throughout my early career to guide and direct me. Joanne and I have lots of fond memories ranging from the time I thought Jim was going to fire me but instead asked me to take on a key position in the office, playing in the Jesuit pitch tournament, of course the partner skits at the annual Holiday parties and...
