Not sure what to say?

Jim was the smartest man I knew he gave me alot of good advice over the years I'm sad to hear of his passing my deepest thoughts and prayers to his family. RIP my friend

Dear Mrs. Scales: Jim was our attorney for the Village of Kent City when I was the clerk for many years. I was sad to hear when I stopped at the village office today that Jim passed away. He was a great attorney. My sympathy to you and your family, Mary Portell

I have a few memories of Jim that I would like to share with the Scales family. First of all, I do remember them many times he zoomed past me on the white pine trail, yet I always smiled because he always waved and acknowledged me. I also remember the day that I had ridden my bicycle to the pond near Parkside elementary school, and had set up my watercolor tray on my bicycle seat, dearly hoping that no one would be stopping by. Don´t all artists think that they are in their own little...

I've known Jim since middle school, he lived down the street and we were always good friends, we went to our religious ed classes together as well. We lived in the same dorm at MSU as well. When l still lived in Michigan many years ago, l would make it a point to go over if l saw his car at his mother's and l was at my mom's. Our mother's were also friends. We fell out of touch when I moved to Florida many years ago but, l will always remember the friendship we had. Rest in peace, my friend.

Jim was our Cousin, and I enjoyed following his dedication & love for Cycling & Life. He recovered from Heart surgery, to ride to his goal of 4,000 miles, on his final ride of `24. He was back at it this year, happy to have gotten out on the road 3-times already. Jim was always quick, & had a good wit, with humor to share. He & Cheryl raised a great family, and we send our deepest condolences to them, for their loss. We were all blessed to know Jim, and will miss him. - Till we see him...

Jim was one of the most trusted and caring individuals that I have had the pleasure to work with and get to know personally. Jim truly put the "gentle" in the gentleman. May he have eternal peace in heaven.

I have known and admired Jim Scales for years. I first met him when he worked as a legal consultant for Cannon Township and I used his services often in my role as Clerk. My husband and I also hired him to put together a Trust. We developed a friendship over the years and corresponded regularly. His passing will leave a void in my life and in the Rockford community.

I remember Mr. Scales as being a loving and concerned father when his children were in my class. He presented himself as quiet, but with a sense of humor. It is easy to see why his children are so successful. May God and his angels welcome him! Helen Phillips

We are all so sorry about Jim! We cherish the time we had with him and will miss having him in class but know he is cycling with His Heavenly Father.
