JAMES E. SCHEERER

JAMES E. SCHEERER, 75, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Roann, Ind., he was a US Air Force Veteran and worked as an Operations Supervisor with the Indiana National Guard for 42 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of American Legion Post 241 and Jacob's Well Church. Surviving are his daughters, Pamela (Michael) Reid of Indianapolis, Lori Beneke and Leslie (Jake) Miller all of Fort Wayne; son, David (Donna) Scheerer of Fort Wayne; sister, Norma (Larry) Richardson of Russiaville, Ind.; brothers, Todd (Bonnie) Scheerer of Woodburn and Michael Scheerer of Russiaville; grandchildren, Andrew Reid, Aimee Stir, Brandon Beneke, Jessica Beneke, Brent Scheerer, Calen Scheerer, Carly Scheerer, Olivia Scheerer, Adam Daniels, and Derek Daniels; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Scheerer and Lora Rose; and wife, Shirley Scheerer. Service is 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Rev. David Adams officiating, Calling also from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 at the funeral home.
