Not sure what to say?

I just recently learned of Jim's passing and would like to extend my condolences to his family. I met Jim at West Point. We were both Engineer Officers assigned to the same company. On our first meeting, Jim asked me a very important question. He wanted to know if I played tennis. Later that day, I found myself on the courts with him playing a doubles match. As I recall, he was a pretty good tennis player, certainly the better half of our doubles team. That was the start of our two year...

My deepest condolences to Jim's family. I went to John Burroughs grade school with him and thru Washburn High School.
He was the smartest kid in my grade school class-especially in math. I remember when the teacher used to ask what time the sun would rise(after putting some figures on the board I didn't understand) and he always knew the answer.
I am sorry for the loss.

Kristin, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's death. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We still miss you at the morning workout classes at the Y.

Dear Kristin
We are very sad to hear that Jim's fight had to end and we send you our thoughts of comfort and warmest sympathy. It has been precious to get friends with you two (wasn't it good to be able to walk together on the first of January ?) thanks to the Hughes. We have many "bons souvenirs" of Jim, like when he took Jacques to Gettysburg...always so open-minded and witty as well as truly kind. This friendship will last across the Atlantic.
Be assured of our love. Pascaline and...

Dear Kristen and Family:

Please accept my sincere condolences. I retain fond memories of Jim going back to elementary school up through high school. Jim was a highly accomplished and very respected member of our class. After graduation I enjoyed hearing about his experiences at West Point, including his success as a pugilist. Who could have pictured Jim as a boxer, which just proves whatever he set his mind to, he could do!!!

We both went on to post graduate studies...

To The Family and Friends of Jim Scheiner:

I, too, would like to add my condolences to the family and friends of Jim Scheiner. Like Rick Stone, I was a close friend of Jim's in south Minneapolis from grade school through high school. As with so many friends who had gone their own ways, we had not seen one another in more than 40 years, so I was especially looking forward to our high school reunion in September as a chance to see and talk to Jim once...

Dear Kristen,

Jim and I were good friends in Minneapolis, from grade school through high school graduation. I regret not seeing more of him, and getting to know his family, since then. But by chance I did get a few minutes on the telephone with Jim last June, when you encountered my sister (also named Kristin) on a cruise, and after some conversation discovered that Jim and I were old friends.

Please accept my condolences. I hope you can find some comfort in the many...

Dear Kristen and family,

So many of us share your loss, indeed a loss for the whole community not to mention our close-knit Woodrow Wilson class of '67. It is fair to say that Jim was a major figure in the heart, soul, and spirit of our class, and he will be greatly missed. We hope you will represent him at our 45th reunion coming up next year. With deepest sympathy,
