James Joseph Schneider Jr.

James J. Schneider, Jr. or "Duke" as he was known to his friends, passed away in Bay City on Sunday, October 11th, just 9 days shy of his 61st birthday. Jim was in Bay City with his son, John Schneider. Jim was a lifelong resident of Sault Ste Marie, having attended Sault High and graduating from Lake Superior State College. Jim possessed a wonderfully quick wit and a terrific sense of humor and was always ready to share a joke with friends and family. Jim was a "relentless" golfer and was happiest when on "the links" with his brother, Dave and son, John. Jim was known to enjoy a good game of pool and a nice cold beer. He will be greatly missed by his good friends and his loving family. Jim is survived by sons, John Schneider and his wife Cindy of Bay City, and Pete Schneider of Winter Park, Florida. Also surviving Jim is his brother David (Michele) Schneider of Flower Mound, TX, sisters, Gretchen (Cliff) Beck, Martha (Jim) Schneider and Mary Kathryn Richardson, all of Nevada, aunts Peggy Rivett and Phyllis Schneider of Saginaw, Gloria Dirla of Bay City and his loving companion, Bonnie Eubanks of the Sault. Jim's parents, James J. Schneider Sr. and Donna M. Schneider predeceased him in 2003. Jim's family is planning to have a celebration of Jim's life at a later date.
