Not sure what to say?

To the Schreier Family: I am so sorry for your loss. My father, a great man, died when I was a little girl. There was a void for many years. And then I met Judge Schreier when I was assigned to his courtroom as an Assistant State's Attorney. The Judge was a great man who exemplified all the qualities my father had exhibited. A man of great faith, courage, loyalty and compassion. And now God has called our dear Judge Home - where my father has met him - and thanked him for filling the...

I am saddened by the death of Judge Schreier. He was a wonderful man and an outstanding Judge. He was fair, honest and a credit to the judiciary. There are few like him. Rest in peace your Honor.

Our deepest sympathy to the Schreier Family.

With Deepest Sympathy to Jim, friend and a true gentleman of the highest order. Ed & Bonnie Theobald

Dear Judge Schreier´s family, particularly his sister, the Sister who took such good care of him these past years- I was fortunate enough to be assigned in his courtroom as a first chair as well as do many many jury trials there as a special prosecutor. I tried many of my career cases in front of him. He was a truly special mentor, Judge, and dear dear friend. My best friend, Ginny Bigane-another of his first chairs, along with his longtime Sheriff Lee, and clerk, Olympia were all a family....

Judge Schreier paid for my daughter's education at Mother McAuley High School. His example of philanthropy and generosity made a lasting impression with my children. Words can never truly express what he meant to our family. We were privileged to have him in our lives and we know that he is at peace in the comfort of God's embrace as a favored son. Angels do walk the earth and he was a prime example.

God bless Jim, his family, & his friends. We moved next to Jim´s family, his sainted mom & dad & his sisters, Sr. Mary Kay and Eileen, in my last year away at my high school seminary. When I left the college seminary 4 ½ years later he sold me his Chevy Impala for $65.00 to get me to my job at the steel mill & later to my job as a teaching assistant at UIC. He acted like a big brother or uncle to me. When I finished Law School he guided me into the States Attorney´s Office instead...
