With great sorrow I received the sad news of the passing away of my friend , mentor Jim , I tried to come to visit him many times but couldn't I am glad I was able to speak to him a few times last year , may god bless his soul and rest him in peace , may god give you the patience in this difficult time

It was a sad day today when I read of Jim's passing. I worked with Jim at the NC State Ports Authority. He was a gracious person, very approachable and down to earth. I remember picking him up at your home in Landfall for a trip to Morehead City. I said, "Mr. Scott, if you won't sing, I won't smoke." He said for me to go ahead and smoke if I wanted to but he would not sing. Another fond memory was when we were discussing a property issue and I had the nerve to tell him he was...
