I worked for Jim Scott for over 10 years at the Arctic Animal Hospital when his office was on Seward Hwy. He restored to health bears moose swans, small animals & all kinds of birds. i remember trips to Potters Marsh where he closed the office & we all went to set the birds free after recovery. he was a master silver smith & photographer. i enjoyed my years working with all the vets. I'm sure God has a very special place for him as he will always be in our hearts. Ginger Coster & Betty...

Dr. Scott was the vet to our labrador retrievers in the 1980's. He was a wonderful doctor to our animals. Recently, I was able to visit Dr. Scott on a number of occasions at the Anchorage Pioneer Home with my dog Charlie. He will always be remembered by those who knew him as a caring individual.

Dr. Scott was our vet in the 80's. Such a caring man. I always think of him when I see a photo of an eagle and remember the time he brought me in the back room to see the eagles that he was caring for. Since then I have always supported bird rescue groups, Audubon and take good care of my backyard birds and my parrot.

Dr. Scott was an AMAZING man. He was our childhood vet, and one day he asked me if I would like to see an eagle up close. He let me put on the glove and pet an injured eagle they had in a back room. It was a life changing experience, and my son LOVES eagles. Dr. Scott made such an impression on me and countless others. He will be greatly missed.

Good man. . . .

A wonderful human being and animal doctor. I could write a book about his care of my beloved pets over a 30 year period, three generations of Siamese cats, a miniature Schnauzer and lastly my Border Collie. I am sure there was a special place in heaven awaiting his arrival.

Dr Scott was such a gentle soul. My kids found an injured Raven years ago. I went to collect the bird which was very friendly. I knew it was a protected bird so I took it to Dr. Scott. He saved the Ravens life and delivered it to the city dump as it would not have survived in the wilderness. I have taken many wounded birds to him over the years. He always cared for them. May God bless him and his family. He was a blessing to all of us and to the animal kingdom at large. You will be missed!

To Carol and the family, my sincerest sympathies for your loss. Jim was a deaR man, husband, father, and grandfather. His spirit will remain with us all in wonderful memories.
