Not sure what to say?

I´m not sure why, but I thought of Jim Selgas today, so I looked him up. Dr. Selgas is a treasured memory from time at HACC from the early 90´s...I was majoring in Psyche, so had multiple classes with him. He was a class act all the way. My condolences to his family.

Pop pop was an amazing person, and we had a lot in common lacrosse football fried chicken about fried chicken the last time I saw him was at his birthday when he asked where is the chicken

I was so sorry to read this about Dr. Selgas. I met him when I was a student at HACC in the early 90s. I had a miserable time at the 4 year college I attended before HACC. But Dr. Selgas and the other faculty of the honors program took me in and taught me how to learn again. He was a wonderful mentor and he helped me rebuild the confidence I needed to succeed. I recall checking in with him from time to time as I made progress in my career. I lost touch over time but never forgot him. I can...

It meant the world to Jim to travel to Spain in his later years to study Spanish at the Universities of Madrid and Oviedo, and to locate relatives while there. Rarely was Jim ever at a loss for words or details,...

I am much saddened by Jim's passing. As an English prof, I was his colleague at HACC for more than 40 years. No one of us loved the College more than he did, and I was there at the meetings with the school boards when Jim spoke out passionately for HACC's need for their financial support. He was generous with his time and expertise with students, colleagues, and the community. His tireless championing of the 'Eagle Hotel Dinner Group' gave him a certain fame among retired hangers-out. He...
