Not sure what to say?

I remember having him as my substitute teacher and when someone invariably would ask him his height, he would always respond in turn with "I am 2 meters tall", much to the chagrin of students who would have to learn the metric system to sate their curiosity. Even 20 years later I haven´t forgotten him.

I just found this and am heartbroken. My condolences to Jim's family and friends. "Olaf" and I were best friends at NM tech and we had many adventures, including driving across country a couple of times. Hundreds of stories! He was a great friend and wonderful soul. Rest in Peace, Big Jim.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I just this moment found out. I knew Jim at New Mexico Tech, where he was affectionately known as "Olof Fjord Jumper" because of his size. He was a good friend to me, as well as a lot of other people. He will be missed

We were so lucky to know Jim. He was such an interesting person, full of knowledge, and had a sense of humor like no other. He took on three long term substitute positions for me at my request. There really was no one else like him. He had a commanding presence in a room and could win anyone over with his wittiness and his charm. We will miss him dearly. Until we meet again, Jim...

I grew up on Norman Drive and the Senterfit family were always the nicest people to everyone. So sad to hear this news.

Mr. Senterfit was a wonderful sub, the type you wised you got when your teacher was absent. He was also a wonder permanent sub when my history teacher had her baby. An incredibly intelligent man, seemed to know everything about everything. I'll look back on my middle and high school years and smile when I think of Mr. Senterfit.
