Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to all the Shalala family. Jim was a good friend in San Francisco. He was a unique and multi-talented man, an entertaining storyteller, accomplished jazz musician, inventive chef and a generous host to his family and large circle of friends. It is a great loss that he is gone so soon. I am grateful to have known him.

My condolences to the entire Shalala family especially Pamela and son Jimmy. You know better than anyone what a remarkable person he was. It was a true gift that he was a part of my life.

I was so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. What an unusual and talented person he was. I knew him in San Francisco when he played the drums and entertained us with his dry take on life. His stories of Vietnam gave a different perspective from the usual Vietnam vet ones. He found beauty and humor all around; and I smile whenever I think of him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

To Nancy and the entire Shalala family we offer our sincere condolences. We will say a prayer for Jim and your family. Jim was a great guy!! Thank you for your service to our country, RIP, you will be missed.

Jim sat behind me in Homeroom for 4 years. I remember his wit and his humor and his hijinks. He also showed amazing talent on stage in The Music Man. I know he will be missed.

A fun classmate from high school days at St Peter Chanel in Bedford. R.I.P., Jimmy! Cheers!

A great high school friend, fantastic dinner Master of Ceremonies, clutch and talented golfer, and dedicated man to his son! Jimmy's humor will be missed and his food creations will never be surpassed!

Jim and I co-starred in Chanel´s production of The Music Man back in 1965. Wonderful memories. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Sending my love to the entire Shalala clan and thinking of those magical years on Scottsdale Blvd.
