Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Chicopee- James E. Sheehan, 89, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021.  He was the son of the late James J. and Bridget M. (Collins) Sheehan, immigrants from West Kerry, Ireland.  Raised in the Hungry Hill neighborhood of Springfield, Jim attended Our Lady of Hope School and graduated from Cathedral High School with the Class of 1950.  He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, worked as a master plumber at Holyoke Valve and Hydrant and Baystate Medical Center.  Jim was an active member of Holy Name Parish in Chicopee, as well as the John Boyle O'Reilly Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #69.  Jim was predeceased by his wife, Ann Marie (Gill) Sheehan in 2015, and by his sisters Theresa and Mary Sheehan, Margaret Phelon, Helen Bailey, and Claire Tippet.  He leaves behind his sons, James J. Sheehan, of Chicopee, Daniel E. Sheehan of Westfield, Michael K. Sheehan and his wife, Angela, of Mason, OH, and Kevin T. Sheehan and his wife, Cheryl, of Burlington, MA, as well as his grandsons, Jack and Tommy Sheehan.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 4 to 7p.m. at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee.  Friends and family are invited to gather directly at Holy Name Parish, 94 Springfield St., Chicopee, at 10a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, followed by committal with military honors in Calvary Cemetery.  All those in attendance are required to wear a face mask and please abide by social distancing guidelines.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's memory to Holy Name Parish, 104 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA 01013.  To share a memory or leave your condolences, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com
