Not sure what to say?

I believe Father Shields had a brother named Richard who proposed to my late mother Jane Higgins around 1955.My mother remembered him with great fondness.I still have the beautiful charm bracelet he gave her.God Rest Father Shields.

I was saddened to hear of the death of my old high school friend Jim. He was a warm, gentle man. I last saw him too many years ago at his ordination in Rochester. My condolences to his sisters. His friendship way back when will always be both a fond memory for me and an valued part of my growing up.

Jim was one of the most popular members of our fraternity at Loyola New Orleans, Upsilon Beta Lambda. I am not quite sure he ever adjusted to New Orleans cooking, especially red beans and rice. He was always proudly showing off his Fordham Prep ring...He was just a good guy and a real wit.

Perhaps the stars are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that are happy. Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues. Jim will be missed.

Jim and I worked together at God's Love We Deliver several years ago. He was the consummate gentleman, as well as being a gentle man. I will miss our conversations. My heart goes out to his family!

My deepest condolences to the family of Jim Shields...he was a very kind man, & will be missed, but never forgotten, SIP!

I met Jim during my brief time at God's Love We Deliver. He was a person of integrity, had a great sense of humor, paid special attention to grammar, and was the ultimate philosopher. And he had an absolute commitment to public service. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. My deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Jim Shields. He will be missed.

I send my condolences to Jim's family. I met Jim at GLWD, he was a gentleman. I will miss him. RIP

I was thinking of Jim this morning and wondering why I had not heard from him in so long. I was so shocked and saddened when I saw this announcement. Jim and I were classmates at Loyola, and he has always been very dear to me. I met many of you at the family breakfast at Brennan's and I know how proud you were of him and how much his family meant to him. I can't imagine a world without him. He was such a special man and my friend.
My husband, Steve, a fraternity brother of Jim's, and I...
