Not sure what to say?

May God grant him eternal rest. Fr. Jim was a classmate of mine at Canon Law school, and as we had the same birthday, we would often exchange birthday cards and visit at CLSA Conventions. He was always a breath of fresh air and will be sorely missed! Meg Hogan

I am so sorry to hear about Fr.Jim. I was in canon law school with him in 1987-89 and would meet him at canon law conventions. We always had a few good laughs - he would brighten up the day. My best to his family. RSVP - Sr. Sandra Makowski

Dear Shiffer Family,
Today I learned of Fr. James Shiffer's transition. I knew him as he worked in the LA Tribunal and we (Orange Tribunal) exchanged cases. I admired his careful work and his caring attitude. I knew he was suffering, but he kept on working in ministry.
My sympathies and hope that you experience God's peace.

Our family just received the message of Fr Schiffers passing. We would like to expess our condolences to his family and may the Lord bless him. Glory be to God

Dear Shiffer Family -
I am so sorry that I can't be at the services for Fr. Jim, as I am out of town. Please know that Fr. Jim and your whole family are in my thoughts and prayers.

As a long time member of the congregation of St. Jerome Church my prayers go out to Fr. Jim's family. He was a gentle man who gave great homilies. It was a pleasure to have him with us when he came to town. Rest his soul

Dear Susie and family, I am very sorry for your loss. Jimmy was a wonderful kid when the whole family lived on 252. May you all take comfort that his life is now being rewarded.

I first met Fr. Jim before he was a priest, when we were both Columban seminarians. He was the most kind-hearted, compassionate man whom I have ever known. Fr. Jim was always "on your side" no matter what your troubles were. He always made you feel that everything would be all right. I will miss his laughter very much.
Fr. Joe Melito

Dear Shiffer Family,
