It was a pleasure to have known my friend and fellow karaoke compatriot "Old Jim". Yesterday, at a concert I played for, one of the singers sang, "Some Enchanted Evening". I thought immediately of Jim. No one sang it like him. I once asked Jim to someday "will me" a couple of those old torch songs he sang. He would just smile. Old Jim took karaoke very seriously - and I admired that because I did too. He was a true artist. It didn't matter to him if someone thought his songs were...

No matter what the subject or the event, from his Tigers to his Wolverines, to his books, to his singing, to his bowling Jim was unique in every regard. He made everything around him more interesting and better. We'll all miss ya man.
