Condolences to Jims family..Worked with Jim for many year when I was a Police officer in Ypsilanti, he will be greatly missed.

I will forever miss you neighbor! I won't forget the time mom and dad took my car away and I had to ride the bus to work and you took me home! You were a big part of my childhood! I miss you!

I loved working with (for) Jim at EMUPD and loved seeing him there and around town later. He always had a smile and a ready laugh. Jim treated his co-workers and the community he was serving with respect. He will be missed.

To the family and other friends, Jim was a lot of fun and his memories will always continue as will his laughter to me, great supervisor and all around nice person!

I have really fond and funny memories of working at EMU Department of Public Safety with Sgt. Slagenwhite. He loved his family and his work and couldn't wait to drive around a golf cart every day instead of keeping people in line at the university. He was a good soul and light-hearted man.

Sympathy to the Slagenwhite family and to Jim's many friends. Jim was always a very positive, nice guy. He was a great police officer/detective. A fine guy and it was a pleasure and honor to know him.

I got to know Jim when I worked at the home he was in. I also know his son and daughter in law.my you rest in peace Jim. Linda Fuller
