When I was about 10-12 years old, Mr. Smart started a movement through the Bulletin that readers would hang "Freedom Lights," red, white and blue Christmas lights. He pledged to visit homes who displayed the lights and ours was one. We were a family of 7 and that July 4 weekend, our cousins from Colorado stayed with us. They were a family of 6.
