Lori-
My deepest Sympathy to you and your family. It was such a shocker to read about his passing. Such a good guy gone way to soon. My prayers go out to you.

Smith Family, So sorry for your lost. Beanie told me of Jimmy's fight, the man he is and I had the pleasure to finally meet him. God Bless and like all that leave us to soon, he left you memories that will last your lifetime.
Beanie's Brother, John Melcher

I did not know Jimmy as well as some . I was not as close to him as some. But the times that I spent with him were on a football field or a baseball diamond. He was a teammate's teammate. From his dry sense of humor, to his sarcastic wit, to his coolness under pressure. There is nothing like the spirit of team, and he made every team and every teammate better. Jimmy, I will never forget your infectious laugh, and your abilities on the field. you were a fine man. Rest now.

Jimmy Smith will always be in my thoughts and will be with me in my heart the rest of my days. He never asked more than he gave and always gave more than you would ever expect. His family is mine and I will cherish and honor his friendship in the way that I live out the days and years of my life. The finest way to honor a man is to live in his shadow.
