Not sure what to say?

What a blessing it was to know Jim and to have countless memories to carry forward as our lives continue. Though our time shared was only 7 years, it seems like a lifetime. We shared Memorial Day, 4th of July, PH meetings, birthdays, lunches and even a trip of a lifetime to Pearl Harbor. He generously shared his love, his wisdom and his wit. He helped to mold our son into a man, and encouraged the heart of our daughter. He was a treasure we will always hold at high value and our hearts...

Sue, Knowing your father for just a few of his last years was a great pleasure for me. After having him speak at our Whatcom Co. School Retirees' meeting I would stop occasionally to visit him. After visiting him one time at Mt. Baker Care, I bought his book and have enjoyed reading his story. My last impromptu stop was the day he passed away yet he managed a big smile and hug. May your fond memories help you in the days ahead.

I loved the visits we had when I would go with my Mother, Thaylia (his cousin) to visit him and Arlene. When Arlene passed, we still went to visit Big Jim. It was always special to see him. A very brave man who grew up in a very violent time in history. He will always be a hero to me. When I last saw him,a few weeks ago,I told him he and "bubbles"(Arlene) would be together soon! He smiled from ear to ear! I will always remember that.
I will miss our visits.
R.I.P. Jim.

Jim and Arlene - Best Neighbors Ever, you will be missed. Rest is peace

Jim was a dear soul, totally dedicated to his family and friends, selfless in his devotion. Our friendship thru the Pearl Harbor Survivors chapter was very special. He and my late husband liked and respected each other so much, and Jim S. carried those feelings forward to me when my dear Jim died. I was honored to carry that mantle and never wanted to let him down when he asked for my help. He was a great example of courage and grace in his last days. I shall miss him very much.

A man of great history and of great heart. Jim was a very special man and will be missed.

Rest in peace, Jim. You will be missed. Trish Lane Anderson

So glad I got to know you better these last few years. Enjoyed visiting with you when Thaylia (my mom, your cousin)would come up. May you RIP.
