Stapleton
NEW BERLIN - James B. Stapleton, 94, of New Berlin, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at St. John's Hospital.
Jim was born September 10, 1917, to Mary (Shanle) and Timothy J. Stapleton. They and his two brothers, Francis and Tim, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn (Frey); daughter, Maureen (William) Waters; son, Jim (Franci); two grandsons; and sister, Katy Stapleton.
Jim loved the land as a lifelong farmer and his passion for horses led him to serve as superintendent of the IL State Fair Horse Show for many years.
He was active in his community, serving in township government and on various civic boards.
Visitation: Family will receive visitors from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 E. Birch St., New Berlin.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, New Berlin.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 E. Birch St., New Berlin, IL 62670 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
The family of James B. Stapleton is being served by McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson, New Berlin.

My dad (Johnny Stapleton) and Jim were first cousins. Jim always saw to it that my mom (Velma) and I had tickets to the State Fair Horse Show every year. He was a great guy and our family just loved him. On behalf of the Stapleton family, sincerest sympathy in the loss of Jim.
