One of my favorite people of all time, Jim and I got to know each other at Fairfield Prep and Fairfield U gatherings in Naples from 2002 on. We became close enough over those years for me to be lucky enough to be his insurance agent in Florida and his insurance consultant in Florida whenever he had any insurance issues he wanted to discuss. I was also lucky enough to meet and socialize with Margaret Crabtree at our annual Fairfield receptions, luncheons and dinners. He was a great friend and confidante. I miss him and his company now and as long as we have these get togethers in Naples. RIP, Jim.

My condolences to all his family. I have found memories of the Stapleton´s. I use to babysit their children because I was the only babysitter they couldn´t tie up and then raid the snack cabinet. God bless them all.

Dear Stapleton Family,
I worked as a legal assistant with your dad at DBH with Priscilla Phelps. He has always been one of my favorite people. Always a true gentlemen, smart and a great sense of humor that only those working with him for a long time - you just knew!! He encouraged me to grow and move on to the "corporate side." I returned to DBH before a relocation for a short while and he deemed me "the bad penny that keeps turning up." A lunch date at the Hybernian Club and hours of the best life advice I will always cherish. The days of "Peg is coming in today to re-decorate, help me hide some stuff I don't want thrown out." May you all smile and laugh often as you share memories of Jim with your family. My deepest condolences.

My deepest condolences to the entire Stapleton family. James granddaughter Sara worked for me and talked fondly of the summers spent with the family every year, May those memories give you comfort and peace at this difficult time. God bless

Dear Stapleton Children,
I am so disappointed that I cannot be with you all tomorrow to celebrate your father´s life and legacy. I truly loved working for him at Day, Berry & Howard. He would always give it to you straight pro and con and then move on! He loved to laugh and was just a great boss.
As you all I am sure know, this is kind of funny. I of all people went to work for Judge Meskill and then your Dad and loved working for both of them!
I was happy to read about how much he enjoyed his post DBH life. Sending you all my sympathies. May his legacy comfort you all.

So very sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. Our friendship goes back to R.A.L days in Bridgeport. He was a skilled attorney and he and Peg were lovely friends. He will be missed.

While Jim and I were of opposite political persuasions, I always admired his leadership in CT and his superb lawyer skills. He helped many people along the way. May Jim rest in peace.

Jim was a wonderful person, excellent lawyer, and valuable partner. His vision and hardworking led to the long term success of the Stamford office and the firm. I am disappointed that my wife and I will not be able to attend Jim services because of a long-standing vacation, but he will be in our thoughts and prayers.
