Not sure what to say?

Remembering one of my favorite teachers ever! He taught me a love of history and reading during my years at St John Bosco. I did go on to major in history in college and taught high school history for a few years. Teachers DO make a difference - even if/when they don´t know it. Thanks Mr. Stenger.

Mr. Stenger was my 7th/8th Grade teacher. He was one of my favorite teachers. I remember fondly him telling us that our competition was the classmates sitting to the left and the right of us. He had a way to make you want to better yourself and I still find myself thinking of being in his class to this day. I'm sorry to hear of his passing but feel so blessed to have been bettered by one of the many lessons he taught the hundreds of students that sat in his classroom throughout his...

As my history (and reading) teacher in the 60’s at St John Bosco, ‘Mr Stenger’ (to me) inspired me to become a history teacher myself. There are a few people who truly inspire us and he was one of those people. Im sure he made a difference in others’ lives as well and will be missed by many. RIP Mr Stenger.

Our condolences to his dear wife, Brenda, and fellow teaching colleagues. We were challenged and inspired on a daily basis. Every Friday before a Browns game he predicted the score on the chalkboard. For his last prediction for the 1995 season, he changed the name Cleveland to Baltimore. It sank in then that the Browns were indeed leaving. He introduced us to Franco Zeffirelli’s Jesus of Nazareth; A Man for All Seasons; even North by Northwest and the little known The Final Countdown. He told...

Our thoughts and prayers to the Stenger family. Jim had a kind word for everyone. His sense of humor was fun. He will be missed, as all decent people are. It’s been nice to see all the memories posted by so many. Thank you for making this a better place, and all of us, better people.

The Grays

Mr. Stenger was my 8th grade teacher at St. Michael School in the 90's and he really made an impression. Truly one of a kind! What a blessing to have been one of his students. Rest in Peace Mr. Stenger!

Mr. Stenger was one of my teachers at St. John Bosco in the late 60s - early 70s. He was the first teacher to let his sense of humor and personality come through in his teaching. His classes remain memorable to me and are a fond memory of my formative years. As a teacher he touched a lot of lives and I'm glad mine was one of them.

My sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I was a student of Mr. Stenger when I attended St. John Bosco. I was in the first 8th grade graduating class and he is, and has always been, a favorite memory. He is, and will always be, my favorite teacher ever. He influenced my life path and I will be forever grateful. God Bless.

Mrs. Stenger,
I’m sending warm hugs and prayers! I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m so thankful to have the pleasure of meeting you and Mr. Stenger. I always had a great laugh when I was there with you both(and enjoyed every minute of being there). RIP Mr. Stenger you will truly be missed.
