I was terribly saddened to see just now about Frank's passing. I knew him at Georgia and at Lake Burton, where his family had a place for many years. He was one of the best, and the bell tolls for all of us with his loss.

I haven't been in contact with Frank for years, but recall the many hours he made me laugh during our years at Northwestern. The kindest soul with the most wicked sense of humor. Just a beautiful person. This world has been diminished by his loss.

The only "bad habit" he had that I know of is that he made everyone feel like his best friend.

You are missed, my friend.

I just happened upon this notice of my college friend's death. Frank was a remarkable, brilliant man, and a wonderful friend to me through our years at the University of Georgia. I think of him often, though we hadn't been in touch for many years. I can still remember his beautiful, gentle voice and his ability to make everyone in his presence feel special. I feel his loss deeply and send my sympathy to his family and loved ones.
