I had not seen Jim since I left Hartford City (joined the Navy). He was a good friend all through high school. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Jim was an outstanding husband, father, & grandfather. He fought a good battle to stay with you physically. But,God saw he was tired and knew that all of you would not want him to struggle any longer and decided to bring him home. Your love for him will help you bear the pain and the memories you share will help bring you consolation in the days ahead. May his Soul rest in peace and may God bless all of you. What a good man, a good husband, a good father, a great grandfather. What a good life he lived. What amazing courage and strength he displayed to all in one of life's toughest battles. Jim Stroup will be forever missed.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Jim certainly led a full life with a lot of experiences, memories, and accomplishments. And the two of you had 48 years of marriage and were blessed with a wonderful and loving family including your children and grandchildren. God has blessed you with many blessings that will be your strength through the coming days ahead. You are in my most fervent prayers.

Lorabeth,
Sending my heartfelt love and prayers to you and family. The road before you is not easy. Your faith will be a wonderful help. Give yourself grace and time for the process. The times I was fortunate to meet Jim when family gathered he had a perpetual smile and a wonderful wit. When our partners transition, we hold on to our memories. Those are always with us.
Hugs and prayers! Tawn

My earliest memory is playing with "Jimmy from across the street." We were friends from our pre-kindergarten days through the day we graduated from Hartford City High School. Our lives will forever be entertwined...to the family, I share your feeling of loss.

I loved his dry sense of humor and how he never seemed to get ruffled even during the most stressful of times. I will miss him.
