James Paul “Jim” Stubbs, of West Rockhill Twp. and formerly of Sellersville, PA, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his home.  He was 68.

He was the loving husband of Patricia “Trish” M. (Gwilliam) Stubbs.  The couple had celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on September 28, 2023.

Born in Bloomsburg, PA, he was the son of Donald R. Stubbs, of Souderton, PA, and the late Clara J. (Prebula) Stubbs.

Jim was a 1973 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA, where he was a member of the Swim Team. Jim also studied carpentry at the Upper Bucks Vocational-Technical School, Perkasie.

He was employed as the Head Carpenter for the Pennridge School District, Perkasie, for 35 years until retiring in 2007.

In his younger years, Jim enjoyed camping trips with his family across the United States and throughout Canada.  Notably, Jim attended the Skip Barber Racing School at Watkins Glen, NY, and in the Poconos.

Having attained his Captain’s license, Jim loved sailing with Trish and their daughter Jenny in the British Virgin Islands and traveling throughout the Caribbean especially Antigua.  A member of the NRA, he will be remembered as a skilled wood turner.  He was particularly fond of sitting by the fire and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.  Jim was proud to have prepared and cleared the land where he and Trish built their home.

Surviving with his wife and father are his daughter, Jenny L. Ferry and her husband Christopher, of Perkasie; two grandchildren, PVT David J. Ferry, USMC, and Sarah L. Ferry; a brother, Robert L. Stubbs, of New Ringgold, PA; a brother-in-law, John H. Gwilliam and his wife Susan, of Pennsburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

His Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

Trish, I was sorry to hear about Jim. I was not able to stop due to work. He was a good guy and great wood man. Mom and I still have the bowls that he turned out from an old cherry tree back in 2009. Hope you are well. Gary Thomas
