Dear Ann and family,

We're sorry to have heard of Jim's passing. Our roots go back to our meeting Jim as a fellow Cathedral Prep '53 classmate where Jim excelled in sports and was an outstanding boxer during Fr. "Punchy" Geddes' "St. Patrick's Day" boxing tournament. In the summer of '55 when Jim signed on as a crewman aboard a Great Lakes freighter, he taught me the job of piloting Meiser's Fine Foods "bum boat" delivering groceries to the various ore carriers that off loaded iron...

Sully, lost track of you a couple of years ago. tried to call your cell but it was no longer yours. You were indeed a true mentor and the memories will be with me always. You were always a person of your word.

In 1966 when my family landed in Largo down the street from the Sullivan's my dad "Phil" became acquainted with Jim in short notice and they became very best of friends. They were both apparel salesman or "rag men" in the industry. They both had the gift of gab and great sense of humor. I remember some very special times as a 13 year old when I went fishing with Jim and my dad on Belleair Causeway.
