James R. Sullivan, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Lena (Asermely) Sullivan. They were happily married for 56 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Patrick and Hannah (Lucy) Sullivan. James was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a firefighter for the city of Pawtucket for 23 years, retiring in 1988. As a firefighter he received the Heroism Award. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, James P. Sullivan and his wife Michelle, and Paula Ursillo and her husband, Michael. He is also the proud grandfather of Brian, Thomas, and Michael Sullivan and Jonathan Ursillo. He was the brother of the late Theresa, John, and Joseph Sullivan. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9AM from the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Saint Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Saturday from 9-10:20AM, prior to the Mass in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Church or Alzheimer’s Association of RI, 245 Waterman Street #306, Providence, RI, 02906, would be appreciated.
