Not sure what to say?

So sad the best memories of my life was drill team so I google competition and St. John's drill team when I found this very sad news about mr surette he was the ultimate mentor, leader and friend we are all truly blessed to have mr surette in our lives his footprint will forever remain in my heart god bless him and his family for giving him to St. John's drill team

Wow so sorry to hear

I just became aware of Mr. Surette's passing through a FB Group for St. John's Drill team, which I had the pleasure to march, along with my two sisters, Ellen and Mary. Words cannot express the gratitude for Mr. Surette's (and Joan Byington's) guidance during those years. He was the epitome of discipline and sportsmanship, and was cutting edge in his ability to develop a show that was pleasurable to both the M&M and GE judges. He taught us a lot, and those early lessons not only kept us...

To the extended Surette family, I express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was truly a gentleman, treating everyone with kindness and relating to them with gentle humor, especially the friends his children brought home, and I was lucky enough to be one of those. I got to know Diane through my sister, Louise, and both of us were invited to Memorial Day cookouts. I'll always remember Mr. Surette reigning over grill with spatula in hand...

Patti, sorry for your loss.

After reading all the kind words about Uncle James, I wish us Burkes could have hung around your neck of the woods a lot longer so that I could have known him better. I do remember him being a jokester, and we all laughed when he was around. We are all on earth for just a short while, but "afterwards He will take us into glory." Psalm 73:24

My thoughts and prayers are with the Surette family - you have all - always felt like family to me! I always remember Mr. Surette's wonderful smile and his great laugh! That is the picture in my memory! He just was always smiling! His great attitude was contagious! He always made me feel right at home and a part of the family! He gave the best hugs!!! One of my dear neighbors in Braintree!!! God be with you til we meet again!

Special hugs to one of my very first friends - Mary...
