My condolences to your Family - I knew Jim from St.Thomas

Condolences to all of Jim´s family. I grew up knowing him as Jimmy as he and my brother, Chuck, were like twin brothers. They both had football and coaching in their blood. After St. John´s school closed they both went to St. Thomas so they could stay close and, of course, play football. There were no two better friends than Chuck and Jimmy. Our family grieved the loss of Chuck 23 years ago but we knew parts of him lived on in Jimmy. RIP Jimmy- I´m sure you and Chuck are finally catching up.

So sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. A great coach, friend and family man you will greatly missed. Love you bro Bob Moffett

Dear Pam, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear husband, Jim. His trial was long and difficult, and yours as well. May Jim´s suffering, and yours, be forever replaced with lovely memories of better times. Prayers for healing your broken heart.

Jim and I were friends at St John's in Ypsilanti from the 1st grade to the school closing. He was always such a stand up guy. He was always so tough on the football field, I never wanted to run his direction in practice because I knew I was going to get hit hard. Rest in peace my friend. Ken Husse

So sorry to hear of the loss of a loved and treasured brother. Jim has a special place in the hearts of so many. Arm in Arm Bo Fidler

Coach, Thank you for all of the great memories at East Kentwood. I loved playing for you and talking Michigan Football. You taught me so many life lessons I´m going to pass on to my family. Thank you for everything. Rest easy coach. Go Falcons, and Go Blue

To the Sutton cousins, So sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. Have many found memories of your home in Ypsilanti and also the Hill in Jackson growing up. We always had such a great time with all the Aunts and Uncles and grand parents. In my thoughts Linda Eisele Weir

One week ago the Sutton family lost a great guy - a brother, an uncle, a great uncle, a cousin and a friend. Jim had a charisma that left a lasting impression with anyone he met. His positive attitude is one that rubbed off on his football players and students. Jim's brother sent a snapshot of plaque to his siblings that read, 'A good coach can change a game, a GREAT coach can change a LIFE' - that was Jim! He fought the battle with Parkinson's with dignity and perseverence, but lost the...
