Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry to hear about Jim. I will miss him dearly,You are in my thoughts and prayers. No one could sing The Streets of Baltimore like he could! I'm sure he is in heaven yoddling for my parents.

Julie,

I just found this guestbook today, and wanted to say how sad I was to hear about Jim. I remember so clearly watching him play at the Top of the Park or the Blind Pig, sitting by the sound board with my dad when I was a kid; even then, I could see how powerful an entertainer Jim was, how much fun everyone was having, how he made people want to get up and dance. I still have "Let me introduce you," though it's bittersweet to listen to Jim's incredible voice now.

Jim was a co-worker to me and a friend. A voracious reader and a voracious singer, he was always fun to be around. We had a good time at the Conservatory restaurant, and he always played George Jones for me whenever I saw him play.

Julie so sad to hear of Jim's passing I played with Jim before I was even old enough to drive to the gigs back in the late 60s years before I met you during the Livewire days in the early 80's I love seeing the pictures of you and Jim in your later years he was the lucky one who got the prettiest girl.

On behalf of all of Jim's Wheeling High School classmates, I extend their collective condolences and sympathies to Jim's family. May he rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened that Jim has gone. What a talent he had! I went to high school with Jim, and we were good friends. Ever so often we would talk via email about him bringing Julia back to one of our reunions. That is how I found out about his death. My heart hurts. I send prayers to you Julie, and to his daughter, I hope you both may find peace in your hearts. My best to you both.

Julie - I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. What an absolutely incredible voice he had, and in combination with a really nice guy - that translates into a very special person. Will never forget the time on my balcony when the power was out in Ypsilanti - and Jim sung and everyone in the COMPLEX clapped and applauded!!!! Wonderful memory of him. Take care. My thoughts and prayers are with you, girl. Chris Gill

Jim and Fred McDowell At 1st Blues Festival

Great voice. Great performer. Great friend. I'm one of the lucky ones who
got to play music with Jim. I will miss Jim's smile -- that smile on stage
that let you know he loved what you just played, the smile that let you
know you just screwed-up, but mostly the smile of satisfaction that Jim
really enjoyed what he was doin' and brought you along for the ride. I
have so many favorites..."Mona Lisa"..."Streets of Baltimore"...Jim's tune
"Call Me"... Jim could...
