James Anthony Thacker, 54, of Ransom, KY passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. James was born on December 29, 1970 in Williamson, WV, the son of Lafie Thacker of Sidney, KY, and the late Sylvia Church Thacker. James was a former electrician at Sidney Coal.
Including his father, James is survived by his daughter Jamie Raquel (Nick) McManus; his grandchildren, Gunner McManus and Noah McManus; his sister, Cassie (Tim) Smith; his brother, Terry Eugene Thacker; his stepmother, Kathy Thacker and his life partner, Angie Thacker. James also leaves behind a host of other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 6-9 PM at Big Creek Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 7 PM on Tuesday, with Gary Blackburn officiating. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY is serving the Thacker family. Online condolences may be made at rerogersfh.com.

James always listened to you and never got mad and he had your back if he liked you and if he didn't well I met James about 40 years ago and we were friends right off and he was like a brother to me and I he had my back and I had his and I never thought this and he was that sick and God has him now and I will see you again my friend ❤
