Not sure what to say?

We will always remember this great man. Ron enjoyed being Jim’s barber
for many years.

You will long be remember for your heroism and generosity for your fellow man. RIP General Thayer. Respectfully, Al & Judy Hall, Lake Oswego

Well done Soldier. Well done indeed.

Our condolences to Jim Thayer family. We recently received word of Jim's passing. So very sorry to have missed coming to say goodbye. We are and have been Beaverton residents for 50 years, living nearby the Thayer family. My husband, Ron, was Jim's barber, for many years.
Sincere wishes,

To The Thayer family: My father Dr. N.D. Smith just told me on the phone that your father Jim had passed. I wanted to reach out and send my prayers and condolences. I had only met your father a few times (the last time at my parents 40th wedding anniversary party in 1987), but I know he was an extraordinary man. My dad had mentioned him many times over thr years. I know he will be missed. My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.

America the Beautiful

I cherish our friendship of more than 33 years Jim and I will miss you all the days of my life. Linda

My former classmate and teammate Ron Ruchek and I wish to send our deep condolences to the Thayer family for the loss of Mr. Thayer. My family shopped at the J. Thayer Company constantly in the 1950-1970's era. I was fortunate later to have the J. Thayer Company as a tenant in one of my commercial buildings. John and I then shared a mutually rewarding and satisfying landlord/tenant relationship in addition to our long friendship. Later spending time at the beautiful Thayer family winery was...

It was a privilege and an honor to meet both your parents, when my mother lived at The Stafford in Lake Oswego. We always enjoyed visiting with your very accomplished father and wonderful mother.

My condolences to all of the Thayer children in the loss of their parents. General Thayer and his wife were role models for all of us.

Sending prayers,

Peggy E. Smith
