Not sure what to say?

Missing you Jimmy, this time of year is hard without you. I'm thinking of your sweet family here and in Maryland.

Jet, you and I are cosmically linked forever and I love you like no other. The star that burns twice as bright lasts half as long....
and you are so very bright. I not only love being your brother but I'm thrilled to make that claim.
What an honor when people say that
I remind them of you.
Poor people of Heaven. Can they get a word in edgewise? I'll see you again, my very best friend...

Robert

I'm certain that I have not seen Jimmy, or heard his voice, for more than 25 years. But none the less, my world is a little lonelier without him. Jimmy was a unique and wonderful person... my best to his family and friends.

Long ago I was a wet behind the ears teenager trying to break into college radio at WMUC-FM. Jim was a terrific older colleague -funny, thoughtful, challenging, offbeat, but never condesending. It was my good fortune to have him around the station as a bit of a role model as I stumbled about trying to "find my voice" both on the radio and in life. Thanks Jim - you really were one of the Good Guys and you will be missed.

It is evident from the joyful memories shared here that Jimmy has touched many souls along his journey -- with his quick intelligence, restless creativity & elliptical sense of humor.

Back when Jimmy and I were at the University of Maryland together, songwriter Andy Fraser wrote:

... It takes every kind of people
to make what life's about,
Every kind of people
to make the world go `round ...

To me, these timeless words sound like the workings...

Jim, you will be sorely missed. Fortunately you left us all with many happy memories of a rare soul definitely in touch with his bliss. And you left us with an excellent mantra:

Dear Barbie and Kenny-

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Jimmy's passing. Although we met only a few times, I clearly remember his wit, energy, and sense of infinite possibilities. My thoughts go out to you and the family.

Jim always seemed to know the best way of doing things. From cutting a bagel with a butter knife for a crunchier surface to telling time with blinking lights. Jim's way wasn't necessarily easier, just more fun. I miss you and will think of you whenever I check the time.

Jim, you will be missed! Speaking with you on the phone was always a bright spot in my day. It is not often I meet someone I can discuss developing international business opportunities with and on the same phone call chat about my Waldorf high school memories. You were a wonderful person and will be in my thoughts often. My deepest and sincere condolences to the entire Thompson family.
