Psalm 27:1 KJV Mr. James Allen "Rev" Timmons was born on August 26, 1951 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of Allen and Gladys Davis Timmons. On Sunday, January 3, 2010, he departed this life at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. "Rev", as he was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson High School. He was formerly employed with DuPont and Lee Trucking Company as a truck driver. James served his country in the United States Army with the 101 Airborne Division during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. He also received the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the Marksman M16 Medal. He was a member of Goodland African Methodist Episcopal Church. In his younger age, he sang on the Youth Choir. "Rev" always had a smile on his face. He loved to joke with his family and friends and was willing to lend a helping hand. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Jeffery Graddick. Left to cherish precious memories are: four sisters, Lucille "Wink" (Macenia "Mack") Johnson, Mary Graddick, Minnie Timmons and Joan Timmons, all of Florence, SC; children reared as his own, Tyrone Williams, Kedra Keith, Steadman Davis and Stephone Davis; two grandchildren; one great grand; special friend, Patricia Davis; uncle, David Tilman; special friend since childhood, Donald McAllister; four nephews; five nieces; six great nephews; four great nieces; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
