TONEY, James Stewart, 65, of Sandston, Va., entered into the presence of His Lord on September 3, 2011, surrounded by the love and care of his family. Born December 18, 1945, in Carlisle, W. Va., he was the son of the late Chester and Anna Toney. A retired minister and mechanic, he used his many talents to fix things - everything from vehicles to computers to needs of the heart. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1964-1968, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 46 years, Mary Toney; a daughter, Paula Toney of Charleston, W. Va.; three sons, Chet Toney and wife Beth, of Aylett, Ken Toney and wife, Vicky, of Mechanicsville, and Randy and wife, Marie, of Richmond; and six precious grandchildren, Seth, Sara, Emma, Owen, Colby and Grady; three sisters, Drema Merritt of Mechanicsville, Margaret Mann and husband, Bill of Brunswick, Ga. and Suzanne Roberts and husband, Kenny of Aylett. A service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23231 with Pastor Ken Card and Dr. Geoff Hammond officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home.
