Judge Townsend was truly one of the great men that I have known. He modeled the values of hard work,calm thoughtfulness and Christian service.
He made the world so much better and the memory of this distinguished man will live on.

I met Jim almost 17 years ago through my employment at The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area (CFHZ). He was a legend in terms of the time he served this community to grow the assets and awareness of CFHZ. His gentleness and grace were apparent to all who knew him. He will truly be missed.
