Not sure what to say?

A sacred memory: Jim singing in a pub on the island of Iona in 2009, inspiring all there with his heartfelt enthusiasm.

I am deeply sorry for your loss of this remarkable man. With the encouragement of Bill E. Garner, an attorney who fought to stop construction of the Bellefonte Nuclear plant back in the 70's, Suzi Ruhl and I founded the Safe Energy Alliance of Alabama, an anti-nuclear/pro-solar nonprofit. Jim Tuohy was a man of deep faith, a staunch friend and a dear advisor who always had a message of hope and joie de vivre. A most convivial host and a gifted writer. I will miss him.

I missed this notice until now. I'm sorry to hear of Jim's death and remember especially his and Elma's kindness to us in the 1980s and 90s.

I live in Gadsden AL. I belong to St James Catholic Church and attended St James Catholic School. I was an alter boy for Jim (Fr. Tuohy at that time to me) and also a 1st and 2nd grade student of Elma (Sister Marguerite at that time to me). I loved them both and learned so much from them both. I´m so sorry I won´t get to talk with Jim as I lived in Birmingham for awhile but never knew they were there. I always enjoyed celebrating Mass with Fr. Touhy and he was kind to me. Sr. Margarita...

I am so sorry to hear of Father Tuohy´s passing. He was the "cool" priest when I was a Altar Boy at St. James in Gadsden. May his soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Mrs. Tuohy, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful husband.

Deepest sympathies to you all.

Go n´éirí an Grá leat Jim Tuohy. We will always remember you for the mighty music sessions, laughs and craic you brought with you when you came back home to Ireland on your visits with Elma. x
