Sad to hear of Jims passing. There was nothing that he couldn´t figure out and deal with. Jim had remarkable intellectual gifts that he always used to assist and uplift those who were bright enough to listen to him. Jim was generous and not the least bit materialistic, he was incredibly fun to hang out with. My condolences to his friends and loved ones. He was one of a kind!

My sincere sympathy to Jim's family. He also had a "family" in Brodhead - the airport family. I met Jim when he first came to our Pietenpol flying with Dave Oberlin and Earl Isaacs. Jim was a wonderful part of our lives. His laugh could be heard around the firepit. We always looked forward to his arrival. Thank you for sharing your Jim with us. He will be deeply missed.

My deepest sympathies. I never met "Big Jim" but I heard lots of stories. May he rest in everlasting peace. I am a fellow aviator.
