Not sure what to say?

to my dad if anyone knew who he was. he had two sides to him. one side was a big brut of a man and the other side was the loving man and if you where close to him he would do anything for you. just like the boys in syracuse called him fast jim. so lord he is up there with you now you would have to put rocks in his pocket to slow him down.rest in peace your loving son robert

james f varney was a great man and a great grandfather. i will deeply miss him. the last time that I saw my grandfather was in october of 2007. he will be in my heart for life. I will deeply miss him.

Jim Varney was a wonderful man. He was a very kind and compasionate man. It was a pleasure knowing Jim as well as his wife Claudine. I had not seen him in many years but Jim and his family have been in my thoughts and prayers.

I am deeply saddened with the loss of Jim.
Fondest memories of Jim will always be in my heart, mind and life. He played a very important role as a mentor and co-worker in my life. During Desert Storm He was our "Tent Mom". He was truly a dedicated member of the 174th. His courage, bravory and valor will always be remembered.
"God speed", Jim.

What a great guy. I really enjoyed him for the short time I was able to care for him. You and your family were blessed to have such a great man in your life.

My condolences to the Varney family I had the pleasure of working with (Fast Jim) as we all called him in the A10 days. He instilled pride and detication upon me that I have forever. My memories of him being our tent Mom during desert storm will always be with me.
He will be greatly missed in the many lifes he touched.

Jim Varney was a great man and he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I did not work every day with Jim because I was assigned to a different shop. It was however, for me, a great pleasure when I had to work on “Jim’s” plane. Jim was always a gentleman, a true professional and mostly, made work enjoyable. To Jim’s family my deepest condolences, to Jim, thank you and God bless.

Jim was the kind of guy you always looked up to, when I grew up I wanted to be just like him. He will be missed by all of those who ever met him.
