General Vaught was an inspirational man! I enjoyed seeing and knowing him over the years. I was delighted that he had such a fine sense of humor and was a humble servant to all that reached out to him. He was fierce in his love of country, state, Alma mater and family. I met Gen. Vaught one time as I was working on a house off of Reeves Ferry Road. He got his vehicle stuck in a ditch and we got him out. We talked and I was impressed by this humble man who did so much for his country. May you rest in peace and protect us from above.

God called home a respected veteran & former leader of the military. General Vaught was quite a man. He served his country & community that he loved so much. Thanks for your service & many sacrifices, General. I cherish the moments I had with General Vaught in conversation. He will never be forgotten.
