Not sure what to say?

Jim will be greatly missed. His sense of humor was contagious. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Holiday Camplands will not be the same without Jim.

Vern,
You were always there to talk to whenever i had a bad time or having a great day. You had the warmest hugs and always treated me like a daughter and you were the only one who i can call dad; even if you were not. I always made sure I was there to talk to you in the morning and during class transitions. I miss you so very much and wish you were here still.

I will always remember you if you remember me forever. Thank you for changing my life forever.

I will love...

Our deepest sympathy on the sudden loss of Officer Vern, mentor to many, friend to all he met and family man.
Vern helped the save the swim team and helped it stay a float!
He never lost patience with our son, Fletcher who always loved to take Vern's picture and talk to him whenever he saw him.
Words are not enough to lesson the family's pain. Know that others you have never met are keeping you and Officer Vern in their prayers.
May God's Blessing help lighten your load....

Vern, you where a very great role model to me in my years at Maple Heights High School, I will always remeber you and all that you did in service making Maple Heights safer. I will miss you greatly.
Your friend, Eagle Scout

He gave me encouragement and advise. He was a special person. No one will be able to fill those shoes. My prayers, love and thoughts will be with the family always. Ms. Carr (Maple Heights)

I want to share my story that I still am so touched by to this day. In the summer of 1998, the last day of school of my junior year, I got every person I know to sign my yearbook because I was moving to a new school for my senior year. That yearbook meant everything to me. Sometime in the day my year book was stolen and I was upset and Mr. Verner came and asked what happend and I told him. He said he was sorry to hear that. In my last class of the day, Mr. Verner came and pulled me out of...
