Not sure what to say?

Dear Joanne, I just recently found out about Jim passing. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Sending my prayers and blessings to you and your family.

Joanne,
Our prays are with you and your family. Varsity Vic was a true friend and fraternity brother and will be missed. Our families had some great times together and Jim will always be remembered.
Del Johnson and family

To Jim's family: Jim was a Teke pledge during my Junior year at NIU. He was a fine young man and well liked by all our fraternity brothers. I went west (Ca.) in '59 as he went east later. Our prayers are with you.

BEST THOUGHTS AND WISHES ARE YOURS, TODAY AND FORWARD. JIM AND YOU HAVE BEEN IN MY THOUGHTS SINCE THE '57 50TH REUNION. MANY GOOD WISHES ARE HERE AND MANY NOT WRITTEN. SPECIAL BONDING HAS OCCURRED IN THE CLASS, AND I AM SO PROUD TO BE A PART OF THESE WONDERFUL FOLKS. JIM KNEW AND LOVED SO MANY PEOPLE. MAY YOU BE WRAPPED IN THAT LOVE...FROM HIM AND FROM US.

Dr. Vicory was, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining people ever! He was one of my favorite instructors at South Alabama. The last time I saw him was at a track meet on campus. He was cracking jokes and telling stories--as usual! I did not find out about his illness until several months later. It was obvious that he wasn't going to let cancer define his life. He was an inspiration. Your family is in my prayers during this difficult time.

DEAR JOANNE, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO YOU ALL. JIM IS SO VERY SPECIAL TO SO MANY & WE HAVE WONDERFUL MEMORIES. I AM GLAD TO HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH THESE LAST WEEKS WITH YOU & JIM. MAY GOD BLESS YOU & KEEP YOU COMFORTED.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

The University of South Alabama will not be the same without his smiling face and great sense of humor. Dr. Vicory will be greatly missed by many.

Sincerely,
Janna Ivey aka Sister Maine

I remember Jim from college. Great guy and friend and fraternity brother. I lost track after graduating from N.I.U. So many others separated after school. My deepest sympathies go to his family.
